Idea #1

A chrome extension that improves Github’s code search.

Is it too much to ask for better code search on GitHub? I usually end up cloning repos locally and using grep and find when I need to locate the definition of a function or something else.

This one has hit the right nerve. Most of the developers are working with some sort of workaround but are frustrated with the Github search.

Similar Solutions:

  1. Sourcegraph

  2. Github1s

  3. Grep

  4. Hound

And here’s a bonus extension idea for you:

@bernhardsson 1) . 2) grep -r “query” . Could probably be turned into a nice extension

Request: This is a community project and I would really appreciate it if you would tag @honeydreamss if you come across any extension idea.

I wouldn’t stop by just adding “And that’s fine!”, I would do further research and see how can we improve the news reading experience.

Similar Solutions:

I couldn’t find a similar solution that makes the news feel more reassuring. Do let me know if you know something similar and I will update this.

Idea #3: A chrome extension that adds a feature to Netflix that everybody on Twitter is asking for.

Idea #4: A chrome extension that serves as a powerful use case in Twitter but they will never add it because it will hurt their engagement rate.

I hope you enjoyed this week’s Chrome Extension Ideas. See you next week.
